Jan. – Mar. 2013 Tribute to the Rescuers Essay Contest
Using the story of the Danes and other rescuers as supporting material, students are asked to choose a historical event or literary subject that exemplifies moral courage and relate it to contemporary or personal experiences in which morals and values helped guide actions. http://ihene.org/essay-contest
Mar. 4-8, 2013 A Week of Understanding 2013
Working with Omaha schools, the IHE brings Holocaust survivors and U.S. Army liberators to schools to give first-hand testimony to students. In one week, speakers from Omaha and around the country reach thousands of students in-person and via videoconferencing. If you would like to get your students involved, please contact us at info@ihene.org. Special guest speaker is child survivor of the Holocaust, Dr. Inge Auerbacher.
*Tuesday, March 5th, Dr. Auerbacher will speak one time to the community at Countryside Community Church. This is a joint presentation of the Institute for Holocaust Education and the Center for Faith Studies.
